Overwatch 2 left the mechanics of character changing during the match (either within the role or freely – depending on the mode). So get ready for a grind where you’ll unlock everything just by playing, and if you win you’ll do it even faster! Well, unless you buy the optional Overwatch 2: Watchpoint Pack, then you don’t have to bother at all. It takes about 100 matches to unlock all heroes from Overwatch and new z Overwatch 2. Instead, they will have to earn them by just playing.
In this case, new people should take into account that they will not receive all characters at once. However, the situation is different with the available heroes. On the other hand, it may turn out that there will be a shortage of people willing to fight for the next ranks, although this problem seems to be rather marginal. Plus, it will let the matchmaking system recover from the flood of new, competitive players. On the one hand, this number should be enough to master the basics of the game, get to know the maps and heroes. For example, you have to reckon with the fact that you won’t jump into ranked matches right away – first you have to win 50 matches in quick play. Of course, there are some catch limits for new players. It is not known whether it will be the same with the story campaign, but the PvP mode can be used without paying. This means that the “sequel” is available for free. The biggest change from the first Overwatch is the transition to the free-to-play model. It’s a fair price for free, but is it really?
It is not a full-fledged, new product worth evaluation, but only a free patch that slightly changes the gameplay. This means that at this point we have only received an update to the original one Overwatch so I decided not to review this piece, or at least not yet. The aforementioned PvE mode will appear, but at a later date.
This title was released in the form of early access, providing only the PvP module. In the end, it is difficult to say what Overwatch 2 actually is. In this case, however, it was explained by the work on Overwatch 2, which is a continuation to fix all the problems of the original and significantly expand it, for example with a fictional campaign! Unfortunately, something went wrong along the way, there was a lack of love and attention, as a result of which Overwatch basically shared the fate of Heroes of the Storm – it was pushed to the background. After all, the company managed to add a new universe to its portfolio, and the paid hero shooter was received very warmly. If someone had told me six years ago that Blizzard was going to have such a PR blown up with an Overwatch sequel, I would have laughed at him.
